The eyes of the world will be focused on the main event of the weekend - the ING Miami Marathon®. Friends, family and curious spectators will line up along the 26.2 miles of roadways filled with inspiring sights and sounds to cheer on the many that chose to RUN MIAMI!
All participants need to be in the runner corrals no later than 5:55 AM. Corrals will close at that time. Participants are asked to adhere to ‘courtesy corralling.’ Start corrals will not be labeled with bib numbers this year, instead with corresponding letter & color; please find your appropriate corral.

From December 1 through 4, Miami Beach, Florida, will host the 10th edition of Art Basel Miami Beach, the most prestigious art show in the Americas. More than 260 leading galleries from North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa will take part, showcasing works by more than 2,000 artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.
To mark its 10th edition, Art Basel Miami Beach will inaugurate a new collaboration with the Bass Museum of Art on the Art Public sector, which will transform Collins Park with unique artworks and performances by renowned artists and emerging talents. For the first time, Art Video will be presented in SoundScape Park on the large-scale outdoor projection wall of the New World Center, designed by Frank Gehry. The free public viewings will be part of a number of special events and performances taking place across Miami Beach for the duration of the show to celebrate the 10th edition.
The exhibiting galleries are among the world’s most respected art dealers, offering exceptional pieces by both renowned artists and cutting-edge newcomers. Special exhibition sections feature young galleries, performance art, public art projects and video art. The show will be a vital source for art lovers, allowing them to both discover new developments in contemporary art and experience rare museum-caliber artworks.
Top-quality exhibitions in the museums of South Florida and special programs for art collectors and curators also help make the event a special time for encountering art. And every year, a greater number of art collectors, artists, dealers, curators, critics and art enthusiasts from around the world participate in Art Basel Miami Beach - the favorite winter meeting place for the international art world.

The books are coming.
And the readers and writers will follow, as they do by the hundreds of thousands every year for the Miami Book Fair International, an eight-day literary party in November.
The Fair, in its 28th year, will open Sunday November 13th with the popular Evenings With… series, featuring six nights of readings and discussions with noted authors from the United States and around the world.
On Friday, the Street Fair gets under way. The highlight of the Street Fair is the Festival of Authors, with more than 350 authors reading and discussing their work, including the Latin American and Spanish authors who participate in the IberoAmerican Authors Program. Thousands of South Florida schoolchildren will help kick off the Street Fair, making the trip downtown Friday to hear authors and participate in Children’s Alley activities, including theater, arts-and-crafts, storytelling and readings by children’s book authors. Comics and graphic novels are once again featured, with the school of comics on Friday and a new section just for kids and teens, as well as presentations over the weekend by renowned graphic novelists and illustrators.
During Street Fair weekend, more than 250 publishers and booksellers exhibit and sell books, with special features like the antiquarians, who showcase of signed first editions, original manuscripts and other collectibles.
The first Miami Book Fair International, founded by Miami Dade College and community partners, took place in 1984. Since then it has been recognized as the nation’s finest literary festival. In 2001, the Fair became part of the Florida Center for the Literary Arts at Miami Dade College, a cultural and academic initiative that promotes the advancement and appreciation of literature throughout the year.

The South Florida International Auto Show launched is recognized as one of the largest and most prestigious in the nation.
Serving as a venue for national product introductions, the auto show showcases more than 1,000 new car, truck, van and SUV models from more than 40 of the world’s leading manufacturers - a sight auto enthusiasts wait all year to see.
The auto show celebrates 41 years. Always a main attraction, this year’s Ride & Drive events, including the highly anticipated Camp Jeep, will be sure to bring in the more than 665,000 people visiting the auto show each year.

Miami Carnival has been yearly celebration since 1984. It had grown from a small neighborhood celebration to an international event within 2 years of it being started. Now Miami Carnival brings live bands, calypsonians from the islands and thousands of visitors from New York and other U.S. cities. It has now become the top revenue producing event for South Florida and is the most popular carnival in North America.
The Carnival Circuit officially starts in February with the Trinidad and Tobago Carnival and finishes up with the Miami Carnival in October.
In 1990 the first Junior Carnival Parade was held in downtown Miami one day before the Miami Carnival. It grows larger each year with new competitions being added yearly.
In 2002 Miami Carnival, Inc. partnered with the Broward County Library to present the first annual Broward County Library Kiddies Carnival. Because of its huge popularity, the city of Fort Lauderdale included it as part of their “Sun Trust Jazz Brunch” one week before Miami Carnival in October.
Miami Carnival is continually growing and now fun and exciting more than ever. Miami Carnival 2011 will be celebrated from October 6th to the 10th.

Sun Life Stadium - Sun Life Stadium formerly Dolphin Stadium, located in Miami Gardens, FL is a multi-purpose sports and entertainment facility that is home to the Miami Dolphins, Florida Marlins, University of Miami football, Discover Orange Bowl and other world-class events. The stadium has been home to five NFL Super Bowls, one NFL Pro Bowl, three BCS college national championships and two MLB World Series. Sun Life Stadium has two of the largest hi-definition video boards and one of the longest LED ribbon displays in professional sports as well as the biggest point-of-sale wireless system under one roof. The Ramada Plaza Marco Polo Beach Resort is the closest beachfront hotel to Sun Life Stadium.
