I can’t wait for Spring Break. I’ve had enough of the brutal cold weather and am ready to trade in the snow for the sandy beaches of Miami Beach.
In about a month, I will be sunbathing and club hopping all over Miami and Fort Lauderdale! Forget Cancun or Daytona. South Beach and Las Olas are the coolest and hippest spots to Spring Break. Some people winter in Vale, summer in the Hamptons, autumn in New York. Well, I Spring Break in Miami Beach!
If you’re planning to stay in South Florida during Spring Break, you better have a plan. There are too many things to do that you may end up feeling like you don’t have enough time. You never have enough time in a fun lover’s haven. But, if you follow my tips, you will be able to maximize your experience.
The first and most important thing about any vacation is Location! Location! Location!
You have to stay at the right spot that is central to everything you need. For me, the best spot is the beach. I want to sunbathe on the beach every morning so I can go back home with a wonderful tan.
There are hotels all over South Beach, but they fill up quickly and can get expensive. One of the best kept secrets of South Florida is the Marco Polo Beach Resort.
It is a beachfront hotel in the center of Miami Beach and minutes from everything. This hotel gives you the most for your money. The rooms are spacious, well decorated, with full service kitchenettes, and the most amazing views of the beach from your own private balcony. The services and accommodations are stellar! There’s also a full fitness gym with steam room and sauna. I recommend the steam room. It opens up your pores. If you need to get dolled up before you head out on the town, then you can go to the beauty salon. The hotel also has a gift shop, daily maid service and complimentary daily newspaper so you can keep up with what’s going on around the world.
On top of all of that, the giant pool and deck that look out on the ocean. Of course, I’ll be at the poolside bar, sipping on some tropical drinks as I work on my tan. If you’re hungry, then go to the Ocean Terrace Grill where you can have a mean complimentary continental breakfast. If you feel like having lunch then I recommend the grilled chicken sandwich. There is only one word to describe this meal: DIVINE!
However, the hotel’s best feature (other than the pool, lounge, and gym): It’s minutes away from everything!
